Revised policy passes ‘first reading,’ regulation still in the works

September 26, 2009

We are pleased to announce that, because of strong community support and productive conversations with T/E School Board and District officials, the proposed policy and regulation concerning student publications (5332) has been substantially changed.

We support the implementation of this revised policy proposal -- which passed a “first reading” on Sept. 21 and will face a final vote next month -- because we are confident that it will not adversely affect the quality or integrity of The Spoke.

Regulations outlining how the district will carry out that proposed policy are still being finalized, so we will wait to comment in more detail on the entirety of the changes until we have a copy of and have analyzed the regulation.

As always, thank you for your support. We look forward to updating you in the near future.

Sincerely,
